Ingredients

  • 24 oz. ground breakfast sausage

  • 1 Vidalia onion, finely diced

  • 2 tbsp. canola oil

  • Sausage Quiche
  • 6 eggs

  • 1 pie crust dough

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 2/3 of the cooked sausage and onion mixture

  • salt

  • fresh cracked black pepper

  • remaining 1/3 of the cooked sausage and onion mixture

  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 2 cups whole milk

  • fresh cracked black pepper

  • salt

Directions

  • Heat oil in a cooking pan over medium heat. Add diced onion and fry until transparent.
  • Add sausage, breaking apart sausage as much as possible. Stir and cook until sausage completely done. Remove from heat.
  • Quiche
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a deep dish pie pan and gently fit pie crust in pan.
  • Add eggs, sour cream, heavy whipping cream, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Whisk until smooth. Stir in 2/3 of cooked sausage mixture.
  • Spread egg and sausage mixture evenly into pan. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  • Sausage Gravy
  • Heat up remaining sausage over medium heat. Sprinkle flour over it. Stir to well combined.
  • Pour in milk while stirring constantly but slowly.
  • Reduce heat to low and let it cook until thickened. Remove from heat.
  • Once quiche is done, remove and let it rest a little. Cut into slice and spread with some gravy on top.
  • Enjoy!
