Potato Red Cabbage Tikki

Originating in India, Potato Red Cabbage Tikki has been now a beloved snack and side dish of both kids and adults. My family is an example. When I served these potato and cabbage cakes at lunch, they fell in love with them right away. “they are loaded with vegetables but very tasty and flavorful”, my husband said. And my kids? They eat greens without getting bored with. Perfect!

These cakes are made with shredded red cabbage, potatoes (halved, boiled and peeled), onion, green chili, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, Garam masala, red chili powder, dried mango powder and salt to make. They look quite impressive but are WAY easier to make than you think. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl, divide mixture into into 8-10 equal sized balls, gently flatten into round shapes, chill in the fridge for an hour to set, remove and fry until golden brown on both sides. That’s all. You can definitely make a great job, right?

If you are finding a way to make your kids eat greens more often, this potato red cabbage tikki is worth trying. Spend about 15 minutes, and these cakes are ready on your table. To best serve, you should drizzle them with a flavorful sauce of your choice. Let’s check it out!
