Ingredients

  • 1 small green cabbage head, chopped (about 4 cups)

  • 1 lb lean ground beef

  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 cup beef broth

  • 2 cans diced tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup onion, diced

  • 1 8oz can tomato sauce

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

Directions

  • Heat a large deep skillet or Dutch oven with oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion and garlic. Stir and break up beef for 5-7 minutes, until beef is browned and crumbly.
  • Transfer to a dish, drain and discard grease.
  • Add cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, paprika, sugar, salt, and pepper to skillet. Stir to combine and bring to a boil.
  • Cover with a lid and reduce heat to low. Simmer until cabbage is tender, about 30 minutes. Serve.
